Day #2

In Crafts Alley, you can also meet the legendary potter at Macák Pottery, where you can buy or create an original souvenir from Košice with your own hands. For a tasty lunch, head to the inviting summer terrace of Smokehouse Košice on Biela Street. Continue your tour of the city with an exciting visit to Mikluš Prison, which introduces you to the medieval history of Košice with an exhibition featuring a torture chamber, prison cells, and the executioner’s apartment. Near the prison, you will also find a magnificent art institution, the East Slovak Gallery, which offers a rich cultural program for all age groups. Treat yourself to a third day of exploring Košice beyond the hustle and bustle of Hlavná Street by adventuring to the Košice Municipal Forest, located far north of the city center. Take bus no. 29 and walk along a short forest trail to the ruins of the magical Košice Castle, dating back to 1301. Here you will find a triangular bastion, a round tower, and the impressive Hradová Observation Tower, from which you can view Košice as if it were in the palm of your hand. There are also adorable animals in the castle area that your children can play with right in the playpen.

After returning to the city, make some time to solve puzzles in escape rooms TheRooms, scattered throughout the historic center with attractive themed stories. End your Košice adventure by watching well-known and new film titles in the historic Úsmev the Cinema on Kasárenské námestie, one of the most popular spots in the city.
